*Due to the outbreak of Equine Influenza plus the server drought conditions within the South East Queensland region and the cancellation of many Campdraft competitions, the 'Buckle Series' and 'Encouragement Awards' for 2007 will not be able to be run.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in the series so far. Once we are given the green light regarding the Equine Influenza and with the continuing rain producing better conditions throughout the state, we will be arranging another 'Buckle Series' and 'Encouragement Awards' competition in Queensland. At present we are negotiating with a committee to run a 'Buckle Series' in the Northern Rivers district of New South Wales.

BRIGALOW BUCKLE SERIES

In 2005 Brigalow introduced the 'Encouragement Awards'. With the help of a select number of committees, these awards were introduced to recognise the time and effort competitors in 3 Divisions put into their sport. These divisions were Juniors, Juvenile and Ladies Maiden Events

With the success of the 'Encouragement Awards' in 2005, Brigalow plans to futher their commitment in 2006 by continuing the 'Encouragement Awards' and introducing a 'Buckle Series' competiton.

The 'Buckle Series' will be decided over 6 NOMINATED campdrafts. Once the
6 NOMINATED events have taken place the OVERALL Highest point winner (from all divisions), will be awarded with the "HAND MADE BRIGALOW BUCKLE".

How It Will Work...

There is NO membership or joining fee - but you will have to register on an OFFICIAL ENTRY form BEFORE Competing.

At each NOMINATED event the highest score in each of the JUNIOR, JUVENILE & MAIDEN LADIES Divisions will each receive 25 POINTS, down to 25th place who will receive 1 POINT.

Out of each Division a commitee appointed representative, will select a rider whom they deem the most appropriate competitor to receive the 'Encouragement Award' on the day.

NOTE: - PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THE 'ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD' WINNERS WITH
                   THE 'BUCKLE SERIES' POINT PLACINGS - THESE ARE SEPARATE AWARDS
