Hailing from Mareebra in far north Queensland, 8 Ball is the eldest child in a family of twelve brothers and sisters. His younger years were spent growing up near Emerld Creek.

At fifteen 8 ball help support his family by picking fruit and vegetables on the Atherton Tablelands plantations. During his breaks he would pick away on his guitar. With his unique style of 'honk, stomp, Aussie swamp' music 8 Ball gained a reputation and was in high demand at local events. A early hightlight for the young guitarist career was performing at the 'Mareebra Rodeo'.

At nineteen 8 ball packed his bags and his guitar and headed for the big smoke of Brisbane after an aboriginal elder, who had been watching him play his guitar all weekend, sat him down and told him sternly -"I will be disappointed if I visit next year and see you still here, just wasting your talent and life away. You've got to do something with your music".

Graduating from the CMMA College of Country Music, 8 Ball plays the slide guitar, dobro, banjo, mandolin, lap steel and pedal steel guitar. He has released two original albums -"Behind The 8 Ball" and "Odd Ball In". His third album "Rebel With A Cause" is due to be released nationally in April 2008.

'Staying true to his vision and following his dream of making music and taking it out to the people', 8 Ball has played at many major events which include - The Tamworth Country Music Festival, The Gympie Muster, The Woodford Folk Festival and The Bryon Bluesfest as well as numerous Country Music Festivals and pub gigs. He has also taking his music Internationally touring Japan three times, Fiji twice and more recently touring the USA where he played in New York City, Las Angeles and Nashville.

Brigalow Country Clothing is proud to be sponsoring Second Place winner of two events at the Walcha Show 'Yard Dog Trials', Tim Hollis.

At the recent Walcha Show held in March 2008, Tim Hollis at the tender age of 9 years old competed in the 'Yard Dog Trials'.

On the first day of the competition and with a large number of entries from contestants who work their dogs everyday, Tim completed in the 'Local Trials' and place second with his little three legged bitch Bindi.

The second day of competition saw Tim compete in the Maiden event. He placed second with his little bitch Loopy. Not only did he beat competitors who had competed at State Level, he beat his DAD.

Tim sparked a lot of interest from spectators and competitors during the weekend, who found it hard to believe that a 9 year old was competing and placing against the adults in the competition.

Brighalow Country Clothing is a major sponsor and supporter of the QLD Pony Club Association. Brigalow will be awarding merchandise and products at various events
throughout the year.

Queensland Pony Clubs run a variety of events which include Show Jumping, Dressage,
Gymkhana and Campdrafts just to name a few. They also hold One Day Events, Schools, Training, Seminars and have a National event with competitors from across Australia.
